The Family Room opens to the Covered Patio through wide double French Doors. The ceiling of the Patio was fabricated from curved steel members supporting a bead-board ceiling painted black to give the feeling of being under a large umbrella. This house was originally a Victorian Barn. It was converted sometime in the mid-twentieth century into a house, but the details were lacking in quality and character. Tom Designed the new Front Porch, Kitchen, Garage and Sunporch making the house balanced and elegant.

The infinity edge pool is set into the stone walls in the hilly natural landscape. Soft grasses cascade and connect the house to the lower levels of the lawn.

The exterior porch has an outdoor fireplace that connects to the living room fireplace inside. The porches extend the living spaces to the exterior and then connect to the landscape with one step down to the grass. The curving roof-line gives a soft flow to the facade.

The home was altered considerably so that a new family room could be built in the location of the original garage. The massive stepping stone chimney was added using matching stone. The open breezeway and garage are new additions that seamlessly match the original 1930's home.
